Use your school supplies and note pad to sketch an intricately detailed image of the mascot and the current tour behind you, but draw them as though the tour guide is regaling the tourists with a tale of Sammy's bravery in the face of adversity, while the family listens, tears in their eyes as they imagine his heroics.
You still have time before class - but being the overeager freshman you are, instead of admitting defeat and taking that walk/run of shame back to your dorm, you awkwardly approach that tour guide. In the attempt to ask the guide where your class could possibly be, you end up not only making a complete and total fool of yourself but accidentally hitting the prospective student with your large but sturdy ManSport backpack not once, but 3 times. *Note to self, just take the time to walk back to your room or the nearest computer at the library.
If you have fifteen minutes, you could very easily make it to a library and look it up online. Also, that'll teach you to trust paper documents. Put it on your phone!
Work out that if I didn't definitely know where it was, then I'd probably spend more time looking, which would mean that I'd miss the start, so to avoid walking in late, I'd just go back to bed, sleep off the hangover, and catch up later. I love non-compulsory attendance in UK universities...
If I had to go, I'd probably have printed out another copy in the first place, or tried another printer.
Guy tells the tour guide to fight on.

ReplyDeleteEmphasis on the intricacy.
